Thursday morning, January 5, 2012, Waterloo Police took 26 year old Brett David Messenger into custody charging him with Sexual Exploitation By a School Employee. Messenger was previously employed during the 2011 school year by the Waterloo Community Schools as a teacher at West Waterloo High School. Messenger is alleged to have had a sexual relationship with a West High student while employed as a teacher at West High during the 2011 school year. Messenger is no longer employed by the School district.
