Patch

Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire & Rescue personnel were sent to George Wyth State Park tonight, at approximately 7:30pm, on the report of a person who had fallen through the ice.  Waterloo Fire & Rescue crews were able to find a fishing area on the ice where they believed this person went underwater.

Rescue crews were able to find the 50 year old male under water and brought him back to the surface where he was treated and transported to Allen Medical Center.  The doctors at Allen Medical Center pronounced him deceased shortly after he arrived at the hospital.  The victim's name is currently being held while family members are being notified.
