On Monday, March 19, 2012 at approximately 2:06 PM, Waterloo Police, Cedar Falls Police and Black Hawk County Sheriff's Deputies were sent to George Wyth Park, on report of a female jogger being stabbed in the back by a person on a bike.

Responding officers found the victim near the Kreig's Crossing Bike Trail Bridge. The suspect was located near the main shelter in George Wyth Park. Police also recovered a knife used in the attack. The victim, Paige King, age 25, of Cedar Falls, IA was taken to a local hospital for a stab wound to the shoulder.

The suspect, Blake Andrew Houser, age 19, of 719 West First Street, Waterloo, IA was charged with Carrying Weapons, Willful Injury and Going Armed with Intent. Houser admitted to the attack. He stated he was mad about an unrelated event and stabbed the victim as he rode past her on his bike.

The suspect matched the description in a similar assault that was reported on July 14, 2011. In that case, Andrea Slade, age 27, of Waterloo, IA  reported that she had been jogging on the Sergeant Road Bike Trail when she was struck from being by a subject on a bike. When questioned by police about this assault, Houser admitted that he tried to stab her with a knife, but only hit her. He was charged with Assault while Using or Displaying a Weapon, Assault with Intent to cause Serious Injury, Carrying Weapons and Going Armed with Intent.

The investigation continues into these assaults and a picture of Houser will not be released until the investigation is complete.
