On Monday June 4th 2012 at approximately 1951hrs Waterloo Officers were investigating a fight that broke out in the 800 block of Logan Ave.  During the investigation Officers with the Waterloo Police Department's Violent Crime Apprehension Team made contact with a suspect fleeing the area.  The suspect was identified as twenty-three-year-old Patrick Sallis of Waterloo.   While speaking with Sallis, Officers observed an object protruding from his waistband.  As Officers attempted to conduct a pat down of Sallis a struggle ensued.  Officers wrestled with Sallis to the ground and he was tasered during the incident. 

Sallis was taken into custody and Officers located a 9mm semi-auto handgun concealed in his waistband.  Officers also located a quantity of packaged marijuana consistent with the sale and distribution of drugs.  Sallis was charged with several felonies including felon in possession of a firearm, interference involving a firearm and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.  Sallis was also charged with an aggravated misdemeanor for carrying weapons.  Sallis is currently being held at the Black Hawk County Jail on an $85,000 bond.
