On Tuesday November 13, 2012 around 2204hrs, Officers with the Waterloo Police Department's Violent Crime Apprehension Team initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 100 block of E. 11th St. reference an investigation.  During the traffic stop Officers made contact with three occupants identified as nineteen-year-old Chaston Dewite Fox, twenty-eight-year-old Edger Yovani Sipac Batz and twenty-four-year-old Ismael Sipac Batz, all of Waterloo.

Officers located a loaded .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver inside the vehicle.  During the investigation it was determined Fox was in possession of the weapon.  Officers observed Fox attempt to conceal the weapon under the front passenger seat during the traffic stop.  Fox was charged with carrying weapons.  Fox was also charged with 5th degree theft reference a separate incident at the Kwikstop located at 1104 Washington St. just prior to the traffic stop.  Fox was booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.
