On Tuesday July 16, 2013 Officers with the Waterloo Police Department's Violent Crime Apprehension Team seized a .38 caliber revolver and a quantity of marijuana packaged for delivery during a traffic stop.  Officers conducted the traffic stop in the 700 block of Hope St. at approximately 11:30pm reference a traffic violation. 

Officers eventually detained the driver identified as nineteen year-old James Edward Horton of Waterloo.  Horton was in possession of the marijuana and the loaded handgun was found underneath the driver seat of the vehicle.  Horton was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, which is a class D felony and carrying weapons, which is an aggravated misdemeanor.
