2 taken into custody on Lincoln Street
Thursday, 22 August 2013 15:33

On Thursday, August 22, 2013 at approximately 11:30 AM, Waterloo Police were dispatched to 1028 Lincoln Street after a citizen reported two subjects breaking into the house.  Patrol Officers arrived and immediately took one person into custody outside the residence. The second subject refused to come out of the house. Officers then secured the area around the house and keep others in the neighborhood away and safe.

Additional officers responded including the Tactical Unit and Negotiation Team. After gaining contact with the subject via cell phone, police personnel were able to talk the subject inside to surrender. The house was searched for any other suspects, but no one else was in the house.

The neighborhood is secure. The investigation continues.

The following have been charged in this case:

Michael Maurice Carter, age 22, of 319 Cutler Street, Waterloo. He was charged with burglary in the 2nd degree.

Corion Jamal Pursley, age 18, of 720 Webster Street, Waterloo. He was charged with burglary in the 2nd degree and carrying weapons. Pursley had a .25 caliber handgun in his possession when he was arrested.
