On Saturday October 5, 2013 Officers with the Violent Crime Apprehension Team conducted a traffic stop in the area of Wellington St. and W. 9th St. for an equipment violation. At that time, Officers detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.  Officers identified the driver as sixteen-year-old Ashley Woodman.   The passengers were identified as fifteen-year-old Dacarious Burkett, fifteen-year-old Robert Luckie, fourteen-year-old Mariquese Clark and fifteen-year-old Danzell Washington, all of Waterloo.

Officers located a loaded .22 caliber semi-auto Ruger handgun and a loaded .22 caliber revolver along with a quantity of marijuana while conducting a search of the vehicle.   During the investigation Officers determined the Ruger handgun was reported stolen during a burglary that occurred at 122 Easton Ave. in Waterloo earlier in the evening. Officers later recovered additional stolen property from the burglary. It was determined Burkett, Luckie, Clark and Washington burglarized the residence by cutting a window screen and entering through an unsecured window.

Burkett was charged with Burlary 3rd Degree and Carrying weapons.  Luckie was charged with Burglary 3rd degree, carrying weapons and possession of marijuana.  Clark was charged with Burglary 3rd degree and carrying weapons.  Washington was charged with Burglary 3rd degree, carrying weapons and possession of marijuana.  Woodman was charged with carrying weapons and possession of marijuana.  The subjects were booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.  All of the subjects expect Woodman were then transported to the Juvenile Detention Center to be held.
