Subscribe to Feeds & Microsoft Outlook Using Internet Explorer (2007)Subscribe to Microsoft Outlook with Mozilla Firefox | Subscribe Using iGoogle | Subscribe using Live Bookmarks

Subscribe to Feeds & Microsoft Outlook Using IE (2007):

  1. Using Internet Explorer, click on the subscribe to RSS Press Release Feeds.

  2. Choose 'Subscribe to this feed' from the link on the page (Figure 1).

  3. Click 'Subscribe' in the box that popups confirming your request (Figure 2).

  4. This message will appear, 'You've successfully subscribed to this feed!' confirming your subscription (Figure 3).

  5. This subscription will be listed in your bookmarks folder, under 'Feeds', it will be called 'Waterloo Police Department Press Releases' (Figure 4).

  6. You will be able to read each article from this feed or you will be able to click the title of each and be directed to our website to view each feed.

  7. When using Internet Explorer to subscribe to a feed, you will automatically be subscribe with Microsoft Outlook as well (Note: 2007 and newer versions only. If you need help subscribing with Microsoft 2003, click here)

  8. Microsoft Office will create a folder called 'Waterloo Police Department Press Releases' inside your 'RSS Feeds' Folder (Figure 5).

  9. To Change your account settings or customize the folder in which your RSS Feed displays, In Microsoft Outlook, click 'Tools > Account Settings' (Figure 6).

  10. Click on the Waterloo Police Department Press Release Feed and choose 'Change' (Figure 7).

  11. The 'RSS Feed Options' page will open and you can customize your feed here (Figure 8).


Subscribe to Microsoft Outlook with Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Using Mozilla Firefox, click on the subscribe to RSS Press Release Feeds.

  2. Choose 'Microsoft Office Outlook' from the drop down menu and click 'Subscribe Now' (Figure 1).

  3. Microsoft Outlook will open and ask you to confirm whether you would like to subscribe to this RSS Feed (Figure 2).

  4. At this time you can click 'yes' to subscribe or click 'Advance' to customize how your feed is displayed in Microsoft Office (Figure 3).

  5. Microsoft Office will create a folder called 'Waterloo Police Department Press Releases' inside your 'RSS Feeds' Folder (Figure 4).

  6. To Change your account settings or customize the folder in which your RSS Feed displays, In Microsoft Outlook, click 'Tools > Account Settings' (Figure 5).

  7. Click on the Waterloo Police Department Press Release Feed and choose 'Change' (Figure 6).

  8. The 'RSS Feed Options' page will open and you can customize your feed here (Figure 7).


Subscribe using iGoogle with Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Using Mozilla Firefox, click on the subscribe to RSS Press Release Feeds.
  2. Choose 'Google' from the drop down menu and click 'Subscribe Now' (Figure 1).

  3. You will be redirected to Google where you will choose to 'Add to Google Hompage' (Figure 2).

  4. The RSS Feed will appear on your iGoogle homepage. The feed will display the latest three press releases (Figure 3).

  5. You can click on the Press Release Title to go to our website to view the article or you can expand the article and view from within your iGoogle homepage (Figure 4).

Subscribe to Live Bookmarks:

  1. Using Mozilla Firefox, click on the subscribe to RSS Press Release Feeds.

  2. Choose 'Live Bookmarks' from the drop down menu and click 'Subscribe Now' (Figure 1).

  3. The Press Release Feeds will show up under a 'Waterloo Police Department Press Release' Folder on your toolbar (Figure 2).

  4. The Press Release Feeds will also show up under a 'Waterloo Police Department Press Release' Folder on your bookmark toolbar (Figure 3).

  5. Click on the title of the article and you will be directed to our site to view the article in entirety.
