On Monday, August 10, 2009, around 4:30 am Waterloo Police officers responded to the Kum & Go Convenience Store at 1976 Franklin Street on the report of a robbery that had just occurred.  The suspect, a white male armed with a rifle, ran from the rear of the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

Responding officers spotted the suspect a short distance from the store and a foot pursuit ensued.  The suspect was apprehended in the 1800 block of Franklin Street and the rifle he used in the robbery was found in the 400 block of Rhey Street.  Officers also recovered the money the suspect took from the store.

Charged with robbery in the first degree is 20-year-old Teijae (pronounced T J) Patrick Scott of Waterloo.

Investigators also arrested 20-year-old T J Edward Marquand and 19-year-old Cody Thomas, both of Waterloo, and charged them with robbery in the first degree as accomplices to the robbery.

All three men are being held in the Black Hawk County Jail pending their initial court appearances.  Photos of Scott, Marquand and Thomas will not be available until later today.
