Waterloo Police Investigate Robberies
Sunday, 13 November 2011 17:05

Waterloo Police are investigating two robberies, which occurred in the downtown area within minutes of each other on Saturday evening, November 12th.

At 9:10PM, officers were called to the 3 Star Mart at 127 Jefferson on a report of an attempted robbery, which had occurred a few minutes prior. According to witnesses, a white male aged 25-30 entered the store and demanded money. The suspect indicated that he had a weapon but none was displayed. He obtained no money from the clerk and left the store.

A few minutes later at 9:13PM, police received another report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Red Apple Restaurant at 305 W. 4th St. A suspect, similar in description to the one from the first incident, entered the business and demanded money from employees. He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was displayed during the second incident.

Waterloo Police are continuing to investigate both incidents.
