On Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 5:06PM, Waterloo Police were sent to the 1100 block of Wallgate Ave regarding a suspicious item found under a camper. Officers called the Waterloo Police Bomb Squad to examine the item and determined that it was equipment used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine that had been discarded. Officers of the Tri-County Drug Task Force safely disposed of the item.

On Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 8:17PM, Waterloo Police received a 911 call reporting that a bomb was located at East High School. School employees and police officers checked the interior and exterior of the school building and found nothing suspicious. It was determined that the report was a fraud. Activities at the school were not interrupted by the incident.

Police are conducting an investigation to determine the identity of the person responsible for making the threat.
