Patch

The quality of life enforcement initiative for January is OWI enforcement. The Iowa Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau (GTSB) is focusing on OWI enforcement and the Waterloo Police Department will be participating in this project.

The Waterloo Police Department has been granted approximately $34,850.00 for officer overtime to work on this initiative.

To encourage drivers to "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" the Waterloo Police Department is issuing challenge coins. The challenge to will be to driver sober and obey all traffic laws. The coins will be given to drivers age 16-26 to remind them of the challenge. These coins were purchased with GTSB grant funds.

For more information on the initiative or the challenge coins, please contact Captain Joe Leibold at 319-291-4383.
