Patch

From March 15-17, 2013, the Waterloo Police Department and other area law enforcement agencies will participate in a statewide traffic enforcement project. Emphasis will be placed keeping our communities safe and sober this weekend.

The police department would like to remind you of the following tips:

  • Don’t risk it -- If you plan to drive, don’t drink or use any drugs.
  • Choose a sober designated driver before celebrating.
  • Take mass transit, a taxicab or ask a friend to drive you home.
  • Report impaired drivers to law enforcement.
  • Always wear your safety belt.

The Waterloo Police Department hopes everyone has a fun and safe St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Funding for this project comes from a Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau grant.
