On Saturday, October 19, 2013 at approximately 8:05 PM, Officers with the Waterloo Police Department's Violent Crime Apprehension Team conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Byron Avenue. Officers made contact with the driver identified as twenty-four-year-old Alen Husic and a passenger identified as twenty-five-year-old Azra Miskic, both of Waterloo.

Husic was taken into custody for driving while license suspended. Officers observed Miskic was acting suspicious and they noticed a suspicious bulge protruding from her torso area. Upon further investigation Officers observed an object consistent with a handgun. After a short struggle Officers located a 9mm semi-auto handgun concealed on Miskic's person.

During the investigation Husic was charged with possession of a firearm as a felon, carrying weapons and driving while license suspended. Miskic was charged with possession of a firearm as a felon (aiding/abetting) and carrying weapons. Both subjects were booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.
