On April 2, 2015 at 1:49 P.M. the Waterloo Police Department responded to a 911 emergency call of shots fired in the area Mulberry Street and Vinton Street, and that a four year old boy that was struck by one of the bullets at 1641 Mulberry Street.

 

Upon arrival it was discovered a bullet went through the exterior wall of the residence and a four year old boy inside the house was struck in the abdomen. The boy was transported to the Allen Hospital and immediately sent to surgery and is listed in stable condition at this time.

 

Witnesses are currently being interviewed and the crime scene is being processed at this time. All preliminary indications show that this residence was not the intended target of this shooting. More information will be released as it becomes available.
