The Waterloo Police Department responded to three separate reports of shots fired on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. All three reports were within three hour period.

The first report was at 520 Elm Street.  As officers arrived on Elm Street, Shavondes Martin, age 19, arrived at Allen Hospital Emergency Department with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his neck. Martin reported that he was shot at 520 Elm Street.   Martin refused to cooperate with this investigation. A search was conducted at 520 Elm as part of this investigation and two handguns; a Glock 9mm pistol, and a Taurus .38 caliber revolver were seized. No arrests have been made at this time.

The second report was at W. 2nd and Western Streets. It was reported that subjects from two vehicles were shooting at each other. No injuries were reported, however a vehicle parked on the street was damaged. 

The third report was at Byron Ave and Park View Blvd.  That report was a subject in white vehicle shooting at a black male. No injuries were reported.

Based on the information received from witnesses, along with the follow up investigation, the Waterloo Police Department made the following arrests:

Damion Dariyus Harris, age 23, was charged with Possession of a Firearm as a Felon, Carrying Weapons, and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana. Harris was in possession of a Mossberg .22 caliber assault rifle.

Dreyan Rashad Anderson, age 18, was charged with Carrying Weapons, Interference while carrying a weapon. When Anderson was taken into custody he had a .32 caliber Smith and Western revolver in his possession.

Dequayvion Dontrell Davis, age 20, out on bond on a previous charge of assault causing injury, was arrested for Probation Violation.

Ballistic testing will be performed on the firearms that were seized for comparison to other ongoing investigations.  Forensic testing and other information may lead to additional criminal charges being filed.
