Patch

On Monday, August 17, 2015 at 7:37 A.M. the Waterloo Police Department and Waterloo Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 63 just north of Airline Highway. It was reported that a pedestrian from a stalled vehicle was struck by a vehicle.

It was determined that a vehicle being driven by Debra Fox of Sumner, Iowa was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 63 in the outside lane. There was a stalled vehicle in that same lane that was operated by the pedestrian that was struck. At the time Fox was changing lanes and going by the stalled vehicle the driver/pedestrian entered her lane of traffic and was struck.

The pedestrian was transported to Allen Hospital and then transferred to University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics and is listed in Critical Condition. The name of the pedestrian is not being released at this time pending notification of family members.
