On November 18, 2015, at approximately 2140 hrs, Waterloo Police Department Officers were dispatched to the Save More Foods at 1975 Franklin St reference a robbery.  Officers and Investigators determined that a subject armed with a handgun entered the business and exchanged gunfire with one of the employees who was also armed with a handgun. Approximately 15 minutes after the report of the robbery, Charles Earl Jones (Date of birth 9/27/94) reported that he sustained a gunshot wound in the area of W 9th St and Leavitt St.  As a result of the investigation, evidence was located that linked Jones to the Robbery.  Jones was arrested on 1/5/16 on the charges of Robbery 1st Degree, Going Armed With Intent, Carrying Weapons, and Intimidation With a Dangerous Weapon reference the robbery.  He was also arrested for Filing a False Report reference the report of him being shot in another location.  He was later booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.
