Increased Traffic Enforcement

Beginning January 25th through February 15th the Waterloo Police Department will focus on impaired driving and stop sign/red light violations in the following intersections:

All intersections in the downtown Waterloo area bordered by 11th, Mullan, Franklin and Washington Streets.

San Marnan and LaPorte Road

Martin Road and Ansborough Ave

Washington Street (218) and East Shaulis Ave

This special enforcement is being supported by the Govenernor's Traffic Safety Bureau and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.   The program targets impaired, distracted driving and traffic control violations.

Please be aware that many accidents and injuries are caused by impaired/distracted drivers and drivers violating the traffic signals.   In the interest of improving safety in the community we ask that all drivers slow on yellow and stop on red, and don't drive distracted or impaired.
