Patch

On Saturday, August 6th at about 2:04 p.m., Waterloo Police Responded to 333 Cutler on report of a found large bullet.  Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party, who stated he was taking out a wall on the back side of the garage, located an artillery projectile, and called 911.  Members of the Waterloo Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit (EOD) were called to the scene to examine the device.  After further investigation, it was determined that the projectile was 76 millimeters in size, had been there for a considerable amount of time, and contained no explosives or hazardous materials.  The projectile was seized by EOD and will be turned over to millitary personnel as per protocol.  It is unknown, at this point, who placed the projectile at this location and no charges have been filed.
