Names of Victims released:

The murder victim of July 14th, 2017 shooting in the 100 block of Center Street in Waterloo was identified as Fredrick Dewayne Webber, age 33, of Waterloo. Webber died of his injuries at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City. An autopsy is scheduled for July 17th, 2017. 

Also injured was Robert Coffer, age 20, of Waterloo. Coffer is currently at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, listed in stable condition.

Waterloo Police Investigate Friday Shooting

On Friday, July 14th, 2017, at about 1556 hrs., Waterloo Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the 100 blk. of Center Street.  While Officers were responding to that call, there was also a report of two victims suffering from gunshot wounds at 1200 Ackermant Street.  Officers, along with Waterloo Fire & Rescue, also responded to Ackermant Street.  It was found that the two victims on Ackermant Street had sustained their injuries on Center Street.  Both victims were transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.  One of the victims later died as a result of the injuries.  Names of the victims are not being released at this time, pending family notification.  No further information will be released at this time, as this is an ongoing investigation.
