On Friday, December 8^th, 2017 the Waterloo Police Department took a report of an armed robbery that occurred at Fletcher and Hwy 218. The victim reported that he pulled over to assist a motorist and was robbed at gunpoint by that motorist.

During the investigation the information that the victim reported to police was determined to be false. A robbery did not occur but was reported as an attempt by the victim to account for a loss of money from his involvement in illegal activity.

Additional information and criminal charges are pending as the criminal investigation is ongoing.
