Update 12/14/17

The morning of Thursday, December 14, 2017 the victim, Cedric Craft, age 39, died of his injuries from the gunshot wound that he received on evening of December 11th, 2017. The Waterloo Police Department continues to investigate this incident, now ruled a homicide.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Waterloo Police Department or Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers.

On Monday, December 11, 2017 at 19:09hrs the Waterloo Police Department responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 121 Courtland Street with a shooting victim at the residence. Upon arrival Officers found the resident, Cedric Craft, age 39, inside house with a gunshot wound to the head. No suspects were located at the scene.

Craft was transported to Unity Point Allen Hospital by the Waterloo Fire Department. Craft was then transferred to UIHC by Air Care and is listed in critical condition.

This case remains under investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
