Patch

On February 18, 2011 Waterloo Police were sent to 1014 Wilbur Avenue on report of a house fire. The reporting party told officers that a male ran out of the house and got into a white and blue bus that had been parked in the lot at Nagle Sign, 1020 Wilbur Avenue.

A short time later, there were several reports of the same vehicle driving erratically. Iowa State Patrol Troopers located the vehicle and a pursuit ensued. Waterloo Police assisted in the pursuit, which ended when the bus struck a traffic light pole at the intersection of Ansborough Avenue and the Washington Avenue exit ramp.

The driver of the bus was Paul Douglas Bass, age 44 of 1014 Wilbur Avenue, Waterloo. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

On March 2, 2010, Paul Bass was released from the hospital. He has been arrested for Operating a Vehicle Without Owners Consent and the Iowa State Patrol has cited him for several traffic violations.  He is currently being held in the Black Hawk County Jail on a NO BOND warrant for Parole Violations.
