Waterloo Officers Arrest Suspects with a Gun following Shooting

On Sunday August 28, 2011 at approximately 6:50pm Officers received a report of shots fired in the area of W. 3rd and Locust St.  Officers with the Violent Crimes Apprehension Team (VCAT) received information as to the location of the suspects involved in the shooting.  VCAT Officers attempted to make contact with the suspects near the business in the 900 block of W. 5th St. where the suspects attempted to flee on foot.  Officers apprehended eighteen-year-old Trevell Demon Bruce and eighteen-year-old Patrelle Jose Green-Bowman during the incident.  Officers also found a loaded 40 caliber semi-auto handgun in the possession of Green-Bowman.  The gun was later determined to be stolen. 

During the investigation Officers determined Bruce had fired the gun in the area of W. 3rd St. and Locust St. during an argument with another group of subjects.  Bruce was booked on felony charges for intimidation with a dangerous weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.  Bruce was also charged with carrying weapons, possession of stolen property and interference with official acts.  Green-Bowman was booked on a felony for interference with offiical acts while in possession of a firearm and carrying weapons.
