Man arrested for shooting at a group of people

On Sunday, August 26, 2012, at approximately 9:35 PM, Waterloo Police were sent to the area of West 3rd Street and Western Avenue on report of shots fired. Responding officers found that a man in a vehicle had fired several shots at a group of people outside of 1106 West 3rd Street. Officers also found that the house at 1106 West 3rd had been struck.

The investigation lead to the arrest of Adnan Alibegic, age 19, of 1100 Western Avenue, Waterloo, IA. Alibegic was charged with Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Going Armed with Intent, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Carrying Weapons. Police recovered a .40 caliber S&W handgun.

The case remains under investigation. NO booking photo will be released at this time.
