Subjects arrested after report of shots fired

 

On Sunday August 28, 2011 at approximately 6:50pm, Officers were dispatched to the area of W. 3rd/Locust St. in regard to shots fired.  Waterloo Officers with the Violent Crimes Apprehension Team (VCAT) received information as to the location of the suspects involved in the shooting.  VCAT Officers attempted to make contact with two suspects near the businesses located in the 900 Block of W. 5th St.  The suspects attempted to flee Officers and were apprehended immediately thereafter.  The suspects were identified as eighteen-year-old Trevell Demon Bruce and eighteen-year-old Patrelle Jose Green-Bowman.  Officers also located a 40 caliber semi-auto handgun in the possession of Green-Bowman.  The gun was later determined to be stolen.

During the investigation Officers determined Bruce and Green-Bowman became involved in an argument with another group of subjects when Bruce pulled the gun and fired a shot.  Bruce was booked on felony charges for intimidation with a dangerous weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.  Bruce was also charged with carrying weapons, possession of stolen property and interference with official acts.  Green-Bowman was booked on a felony for interference with official acts while in possession of a firearm and carrying weapons.
