Classes begin at Hawkeye Community College on August 21^st and at Waterloo High Schools on August 24^th.   The start of school brings with it traffic safety concerns for inexperienced drivers, school buses and increased pedestrian traffic.   Drivers are reminded that Iowa Law now prohibits texting and driving for everyone and prohibits the use of electronic devices (cell phones) by students with a graduated license.     Please model safe driving for those around you and ensure everyone travels safely.    The Waterloo Police will have an increased traffic safety presence in and around our area schools starting August 21^st, 2017 to ensure all drivers are extra vigilant.
