On Tuesday, July 17th, 2018 at approximately 10:33 PM Officers of the Waterloo Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Fairview and Riehl Street.    The vehicle failed to stop for officers and led them on a short pursuit.  During the pursuit officers observed the occupants of the vehicle throw three handguns out of the vehicle.   These handguns were recovered by the officers

The vehicle stopped in the area of Avon and Conger.   The vehicle was occupied by 1 adult male, 2 juvenile males and 2 juvenile females.   As the result of this investigation the following charges were filed:

Trevon Parham-Holmes (age 19) was charged with Carrying Weapons

Devonte Wright (age 17) was charged with Possession of a Firearm as a Felon

A 17 year old female was charged with carrying weapons and eluding.

A 16 year old juvenile male was charged with carrying weapons

Officers recovered 3 handguns and one Taser during this investigation.  One of the handguns had been reported stolen during a residential burglary in April, 2018.

A criminal charge is an accusation.   A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty
