On Friday, November 9, 2018 at about 0145 hours, Officers with the Violent Crimes Apprehension Team attempted to stop a vehicle for an equipment violation near West 8th and Johnson Street. The vehicle failed to stop and led officers on a slow speed pursuit. During the pursuit, a passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers continued the pursuit with the vehicle and also the subject fleeing on foot. Eventually the vehicle stopped and the driver was detained. The driver was identified as Brileigh Femino (Age 23). The person who fled on foot from the vehicle was also detained and identified as Taurean Harper (Age 23). Located near his person was a loaded .22 cal revolver handgun, and a baggie of cocaine.

Harper was charged with Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Deliver while in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Firearm as a Prohibited Person, Carrying Weapons, and Interference with Official Acts while armed with weapon.

Femino was charged with OWI 1st Offense, Eluding, and DWLS.

Both were transported to the BHCJ on their respective charges.

This is the Violent Crimes Apprehension Team's 49th illegal firearm seizure of 2018.
