Patch

The Waterloo Police Department has released their Year End Crime Statistics for 2018.  Chief Trelka made the following statement:

“Waterloo’s 2018 crime rate has remained relatively stable from the crime rate experienced in 2017. There was a slight increase in the more serious offenses. This was driven by fraudulent activity, such as credit card fraud, and acts of violence amongst gang members. The increase was offset by a significant drop in less serious crimes such as non-violent family offenses and public intoxication. These latest statistics show that Waterloo’s overall crime rate continues to trend down.”

You can find the Year End Statistics on the Waterloo Police Department website - www.waterloopolice.com under the Reports Menu - Uniform Crime Stats (PDF).
