On October 11th, 2019 at 6:27 AM Waterloo Police responded to a harassment complaint at 1440 Glenny Ave, Waterloo.   As they were responding, the caller advised that the subjects were now trying to steal a vehicle in the alley.   As officers arrived in the area they obser ved a subject jump in a parked vehicle and leave the area, leading officers on a short pursuit.   During the pursuit the subjects tossed an item out of the window of the vehicle.   This item was recovered and identified as a 20 gauge shotgun.   When the vehicle was stopped the occupants were identified as Francisco J. Rubio, male, age 24 and the female as Midheta Mujakic age 26.  

As a result of the investigation into this matter:

Midheta Mujakic was charged with Burglary to a Motor Vehicle, Eluding, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Going Armed with a knife blade greater than 8”.  

Francisco Rubio was charged with Burglary to a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Methamphetamine.   Rubio also was charged with 1st Degree Robbery for an incident that occurred on October 9th, 2019 at the same address.    

No photos are being released at this time.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty
