On Sunday, May 23^rd 2021 at 12:15 AM Waterloo Police responded to a call of a disorderly in the area of W. 4^th and Jefferson Street, Waterloo..  As Officers arrived they heard gunshots in the 300 block of W. 4th Street and saw numerous people running from the area. Officers entered the area and found Davonta D. Sellers age 27 of Waterloo, laying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound.   Officers rendered immediate medical aide to Sellers prior to the ambulance arriving. Sellers was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital by Waterloo Fire Rescue, and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

There were numerous people in the area when the shooting occurred. We are asking for witnesses to come forward and contact the Waterloo Police Department at 319-291-4340.
