The Waterloo Police Department has received numerous reports today of an IRS phone scam. Residents are receiving phone calls from a 202 area code claiming they are with the Internal Revenue Service and asking for personal information including the person's Social Security number.

Police would like to remind residents to never give personal information over the phone.
