Waterloo Robbery Suspect Apprehended in Cedar Rapids

On Friday June 10, 2011 Officers with the Cedar Rapids Police Department's Mobile Assist Team located nineteen-year-old Reginald Gewon Smith of Waterloo hiding out at an apartment in Cedar Rapids.  Officers with the Waterloo Police Department's Violent Crimes Apprehension Team (VCAT) have been coordinating with the Cedar Rapids Police Department as to the location of Smith.

Smith has been on the run since a warrant was issued for his arrest for robbery in the 1st degree in connection to a robbery that occurred on March 29, 2011.  Smith was also taken into custody on multiple felony and probation violation warrants.  The other warrants included Theft in the 1st degree, Theft in the 2nd degree, sale/manufacturing of marijuana, burglary, assault and disorderly conduct.  Smith was on the Black Hawk County's Most Wanted list and he is currently being held at the Black Hawk County Jail.
