On Sunday, June 3, 2012, at approximately 6:10 PM, Waterloo Police responded to an armed robbery at the B&B East Convenience Store, 1615 Bishop Avenue, Waterloo. The suspect, armed with a rifle, took a large sum of money and fled the scene in a silver Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Responding officers located the vehicle on Toland Avenue and when the driver saw the police he drove away. Officers pursued and the Trailblazer went off the road into some fields south of Independence Avenue where it got struck in a creek. The driver ran from the vehicle and after being chased by officers he was arrested near the area of Creston Avenue and Archer Avenue. The suspect was taken to Allen Hospital for medical treatment.

Today the suspect, Dustin Colt Robbins, age 42, of 1030 Ackermant Street, Waterloo, IA was released from the hospital, placed under arrest, and taken to the Black Hawk County Jail on charges of Robbery in the 1st degree and Possession of a weapon as a felon. He is being held on NO bond until his initial court appearance.
