Shortly before mid-night on Thursday, October 10, 2013, Waterloo Police were dispatched to 815 Allen Street on a report the residence had been struck by gunfire. While investigating this incident Officers heard more gunshots around 1 a.m. in the area of Allen Street. The residents at 612 W. 8th Street reported their residence had been struck by gunfire.

During the investigation into these incidents witnesses observed three suspicious people running into a garage at 727 W. 7th Street. These people were identified as 16 year-old Chorion Smith, 17 year-old Dequavius Stewart and 20 year-old Troy Evans. An SKS type rifle and magazines were later recovered from the garage at 727 W. 7th Street.

The juveniles Chorion Smith and Dequavius Stewart were charged with Carrying Weapons and Going Armed With Intent. Troy Evans was charged with Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Going Armed With Intent and Carrying Weapons.

This incident remains under investigation.
