Patch

On December 8, at about 10:00 a.m., members of a U.S. Marshals Service led fugitive task force were conducting a fugitive investigation in Waterloo.  As part of the investigation, task force officers were involved in a vehicle stop during which one of the task force officers discharged a firearm.  No Waterloo police personnel were involved in the vehicle stop.  The driver of the vehicle ultimately fled and has not been apprehended.  There is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service and press inquiries should be directed to the U.S Marshals Service in Cedar Rapids.
