On Saturday, July 12, 2025, the Clayton County Sheriff's Office notified the Waterloo Police Department that a body had been found in a body of water in their jurisdiction. The body would be identified pending autopsy. On Monday, July 14, 2025, the subject in question was identified as Neven Soknic. Any further inquiries in this investigation can be directed to the Clayton County Sheriff.
On July 9, 2025, Waterloo Police Officers received a report of a missing person, identified as 41 year old Neven Soknic. He was last in contact with an acquaintance by phone at around 3:30 PM on Monday, July 7, 2025. Soknic was last seen wearing a blue shirt and grey shorts. Soknic is described as a white male approximately 220 pounds and around 5' 10" with brown eyes, black hair, and facial hair.
The Waterloo Police Department has been in contact with the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office as Soknic may have become lost and was possibly in that jurisdiction at some point.
