UPDATE - West Mullan Avenue Homicide Victim Identified

August 4, 2026

On Sunday, August 2, 2026, at approximately 1:01 a.m., Waterloo Police were dispatched to the parking lot at 516 W. Mullan Avenue for a report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located a male gunshot victim inside a vehicle.  Lifesaving measures were initiated, and the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as 63-year-old Henry Greer of Waterloo.  Detectives are asking residents and business owners in the immediate area to review any surveillance footage they may have from approximately 12:30 a.m. to 1:15 a.m. and report any observations that may assist the investigation.  No further information will be released at this time, as this remains an ongoing investigation.
