Waterloo Police Department Warns of Solicitation Scam

Over the past week, the Waterloo Police Department has received several reports locally, and from across the country, about someone calling residents and trying to solicit money on behalf of the department. In some cases, the caller even identified themselves as Chief Robert Duncan.

Please know that neither the Waterloo Police Department, nor Chief Duncan, will ever call you to ask for money. These calls are a scam.

If you receive one of these calls, do not send any money and do not share personal information. Hang up and report the incident to local law enforcement.
