Waterloo Police Investigate Early Morning Homicide

July 18, 2026

On Saturday, July 18, 2026, at approximately 1:05 a.m., Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire and Rescue were dispatched to 1139 Langley Road for a report of a fight and subsequent stabbing.  Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male stabbing victim in a common area of the apartment building.  Lifesaving measures were initiated at the scene, and the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

This is an isolated incident, and there is no active threat to the community.  The name of the victim is being withheld pending proper family notification.  The investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time.
