Waterloo Police Investigate Sergeant Road Fatality

On Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, at about 3:47 PM, Black Hawk County Consolidated Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a motorcycle crash on Sergeant Road (HWY 63) near Freedom Lane, in Waterloo.  Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the scene, and upon arrival, officers found the male rider had separated from the motorcycle during the crash.  The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Witness accounts verified the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved, and the motorcycle was only occupied by the male rider.

No further details will be released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
