The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Michael James Alexander Jr.  The Waterloo Police Department is asking the public if they have any information to contact the Waterloo Police Detective Division 319-291-4340 #3 or Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers 855-300-TIPS.

On Monday May 19, 2025, at approximately 10:42 AM Waterloo Police Officers and Waterloo Fire were dispatched to the 1300 blk of W 4th street on a report of a person who had been shot.  Officers arrived on scene and observed a male victim laying in the driveway unresponsive.  The male gunshot victim has been transported by Waterloo Fire Ambulance

On Friday, May 16th, 2025, at about 1332 hrs., Waterloo Police were dispatched to Allen Hospital on the report of a shooting victim that arrived at the hospital by private vehicle.  Through the investigation, it was determined that the scene of this incident was in the 200 blk. of Sumner Street.  The victim in this case sustained life-threatening

The City of Waterloo Animal Control Services will be launching the new DocuPet online licensing program in July of 2025.  We do not have an exact date of roll out and are working on that with Docupet.  We will post more details online as it gets closer with instructions on how to sign up and get your pet licenses.
